in Rome is a competition for compositions for the Bayan Accordion in chamber music, either solo or in ensemble.

- Fisa...armonie is an international competition held in Trieste, Italy for accordion soloists, concert players and chamber ensembles. The fifth edition will be held September 28 - 30, 2007.
- The 9th edition of the International Astor Piazzolla Award will be held in Udine, Italy, on October 30th - November 1st, 2002. The competition is open to groups and solists playing music by Astor PIazzolla; the application deadline is October 15th, 2002.

The deadline for that competition is March 31.
- The Accordionists & Teachers Guild, International (formerly the Accordion Teachers Guild, International) is dedicated to the advancement of the accordion, through raising of teaching standards and promotion of all aspects of the accordion. They will organise the 2010 ATG "70th Anniversary Celebration" and "Anthony Galla-Rini International Competition for Classical Accordion" on July 21-25, 2010 in Santa Clara, California.

- Louisiana Folk Roots is a non-profit organization founded by Christine Balfa and is dedicated to nurturing the unique folkways and cultural resources in Louisiana. They organise workshops in amongst others Cajun and Creole Accordion. The Dewey Balfa Cajun and Creole Heritage Week was last held April 10 - 16, 2005, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, with Jeffery Broussard teaching Creole accordion and Kevin Naquin and Dirk Powell teaching Cajun accordion. They also run a monthly Creole and Cajun Acoustic Jam Session in Lafayette.
- Noel Hill is an Irish concertina player, originally from County Clare. He organises the "Noel Hill Irish Concertina School" in various locations in the USA. In 2003 they were held in East Durham, New York (August 3 - 8), in Newberg, Oregon (August 10 - 15) and Cincinnati, Ohio (July 27 - August 1).
